Scary Fai is scary… o____o

Rather than scary, I think Fai is badass here. How this hole page is drawn is extremely well done, I mean look at that water. And look at that smile, its genuine. Hes even using the vampire blood in his vains to his advantage.

I love that smile - just like *shiver of simultaneous awe and fear*

And in that moment, Fai did not regret the vampire blood. 

Okay but this whole thing is so powerful! Remember when he first got turned? How bitter he was? I don’t doubt for a second that he actually hated Kurogane for a while there for taking away his one chance to escape (in his mind so save them from himself on several levels). It wasn’t very long ago that he was using Kurogane’s full name and hating himself even more for being a vampire. What we saw in Infinity was only a glimpse. 

Here we see him not only using that which caused him such pain but embracing it and embracing life - something he’s never been able to do in his whole life as far as we know. All of the sake of a pair of kids and a ninja. He’s done a complete 180 and it’s shown right here as he summons his claws and prepares to protect those he loves, no long afraid of himself and putting his all into it. Even those parts that he once loathed.

This has got to be one of the best pages in Tsubasa. Just look at Fai and Kurogane’s eyes, you can see how much they care about them and there fierce determination to not let them get hurt. The “Don’t touch them” or “Don’t you dare touch them” in the volume translation, they are going all out. There’s no holding back if you mess with Syaoran and Sakura or anyone they care about. They won’t let anyone hurt who is important to them anymore.
